A Successful Seminar on IPR Border Measures held in Taichung Customs

On 10 June, 2015, Taichung Customs held the 2015 seminar on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Border Measures in its main building to keep up with the government policy of IPR protection and strengthen the relevant border control measures. This was the first in a series of IPR Border Measures seminars arranged by Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance. Two lecturers, both with a wealth of experience in IPR enforcement and customs control, were invited from the Intellectual Property Office, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance.

The seminar covered a broad spectrum of subjects, ranging from the legal framework of IPR enforcement and border measures to specific practices concerning customs procedures of IPR enforcement and inter-agency co-operation. After the presentations made by lecturers, intensive discussions were held, involving open dialogue and the exchange of experience between lecturers and participants on issues concerning customs clearance and IPR seizures. All participants expressed that the seminar was a great success in terms of equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to implement effective IPR border measures.
