Keelung Customs Holds a Joint Meeting to Enhance Partnership with Its Stakeholders

On June 19, 2014, Keelung Customs held the 2014 First Joint Meeting with Operators of Transport, Warehousing and Customs Brokerage Industries, aiming to enhance the communication and partnership with its stakeholders. Presided over by Deputy Director Ju-Yaw Song, the Joint Meeting was attended by representatives from Port of Keelung, Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC), R.O.C. Container Terminal Association, Keelung National Shipowners Association, Keelung Shipping Agencies Association, Taiwan Commercial Ports Enterprise Development Association, Keelung Customs Broker Association, I-Lan Customs Broker Association, Hua-Lien Customs Broker Association and Keelung City Customs Brokers' Union.

In addition to exchanges of views on a variety of mutually concerned topics, the Customs also took advantage of this opportunity to promote business ethics to its stakeholders, and called on them to help create a clean clearance environment.

Deputy Director Song stressed that in order to rationalize Customs formalities and build a clean, secure as well as facilitated clearance environment, besides holding this kind of joint meetings regularly, the Customs will visit relevant associations or groups from time to time so as to gain more insight into its stakeholders’ needs. He also urged operators of customs-related businesses to feel free to come up with the problems or difficulties they encountered anytime, and the Customs will do its level best to solve them accordingly.
