The inauguration ceremony held by Chien Shing Harbor Company for its container yard approved by Taichung Customs

Taichung Customs, Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance (TCC) has made a bulletin approving the Chien Shing Harbor Service Company to establish a container yard. Director I-Tsai,Chen of TCC led the customs officers attending this simple, but state ceremony on the 23rd Nov.,2016.

“Chien Shing Harbor Service Company, founded in 1976, has a business volume over NT$1,200,000,000 per year and is one of the most prestigious companies in Taiwan.” said Director Chen of TCC. In an effort to improve its service quality, the company has re-established its container yard this year with an aim to providing comprehensive logistics operations so as to meet customers’ needs and to extend the business opportunities at Taichung harbor. As one of the four customs bureaux governed by the Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance, Taichung Customs (TCC) exercises the jurisdiction of the import and export clearance at Taichung harbour, Mailiau harbour, and Taichung Airport. To co-ordinate and upgrade its service quality, Chien Shing Harbor Service Company integrates its various departments, ranging from declaration, transportation, warehousing, packing, loading/unloading to container yard, to strengthen its service scale.

Director Chen of TCC also indicated that this company is the first operator which is approved to set its container yard outside the restricted area, whilst the other three container yards, namely China Container Terminal Corp., Evergreen International Storage Corp. and Wan Hai Lines Ltd. are within the restricted area under TCCs surveillance. He also extended his praise to the company for launching the container yard and its great efforts behind the operation. In conclusion, he hoped to see even better co-operation between the company, the shipping associated operators and the Customs to make business at Taichung harbour more flourishing.
