Keelung Customs Urges Customs Brokers To File Export Declaration Data in XML Format

After the Advance Cargo Information System (ACIS) was launched on September 2, 2013, the Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance, has actively promoted the application of this new system, aiming to further facilitate international trade and secure the supply chain. To date, there have been 135 customs brokers filing export declarations with Keelung Customs in XML (Extensible Markup Language) format via ACIS. Among others, 72 of them have transmitted over 50 percent of their export declaration data to the Customs via the new system.

To encourage customs brokers to use ACIS, a rewarding measure has been adopted by the Customs, that is, as long as a customs broker that has transmitted over 50 percent of its export declaration data to the Customs in XML format via the new system within 30 days after it formally adopts the new system, it is eligible for the reward.

On the other hand, the earlier a customs broker adopts ACIS, the more rewards it can receive. As to the details of the rewarding measure and the pilot test of ACIS, please contact TRADE-VAN Information Services Co. at 0800 299 889 or (02) 2420 295, Extension 5201.
